According to TVShowsOnDVD.com, the I Love Lucy complete series DVD set will contain the long-lost movie from 1953! I only hope the movie will be released as a separate DVD as well since I already own all of the individual season box sets.

My wife and I saw “War of the Worlds” on Saturday…and I surprisingly enjoyed it. I’m not the biggest fan of movie remakes, so I was expecting a poorly-written rework. Instead, what I saw was a very-well written movie simply modernized. There were even a couple cameos from the 1953 movie.

Since I’m on the topic of movie remakes, I saw an advertisement for an upcoming movie that upsets me. Rene Russo and Dennis Quaid in a remake of Lucille Ball’s and Henry Fonda’s 1968 classic Yours, Mine, and Ours. For those who don’t know, I’m a Lucille Ball fanatic. There’s just something about her, Desi Arnaz, and “I Love Lucy” that I am enthralled by. Maybe it’s that captivation that I feel so strongly against this remake. What’s with Dennis Quaid and remakes (The Parent Trap)? He was excellent in Innerspace…but The Parent Trap and Yours, Mine, and Ours? Cmon now..
