By Tom Sepper  //  Technology  //  No Comments

You should know that AT&T/Cingular voicemail is not secure. Someone with knowhow to spoof caller ID can gain access to your voicemail. To protect your account, follow the following steps.

  • Call your AT&T/Cingular voicemail (dial your own number from your phone)
  • Press 4 to go to “Personal Options”
  • Press 2 to go to “Administrative Options”
  • Press 1 to go to “Password”
  • Press 2 to turn your password “ON”

Hang up and call your voicemail again from your phone. If your voicemail asks you for your voicemail password, then you are set.
