Adios Sidekick 3

After roughly a year, I just sold my Sidekick 3. While I loved that device, there were good reasons behind my selling it.

1. I’m getting an iPhone; therefore, I have no more use for the Sidekick.
2. Danger is currently working on new Sidekick devices: the Zante (Motorola) and the Shuriken (Sharp). So once those are released, demand and price for the SK3 will drop significantly. I was worried that the relatively new Sidekick iD might make it harder to sell my SK3, but it turns out that many people consider the SKiD a flop. In fact, laptopmag.com voted it the fifth worst device of 2007.
3. I only used the Sidekick for data; I kept my Cingular/AT&T-based RAZR mobile phone for voice.

So there you have it. I’m sad to see it go, but at the same time, I’m very excited about the iPhone.
