The Truth About Growing Old

A couple weekends ago Monica and I were out running errands. Nothing fun or exciting – just the run-of-the-mill Saturday errands to Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, and Petsmart.

What was so different about these errands you ask? We realized Wrigley is getting old.

There we were – in the Science Diet aisle at Petsmart. I’m about to pick up the bag of Adult Small Bites food that we always buy for her when I look to the left and see something that I didn’t want to see: Science Diet Mature Adult Small Bites for dogs seven years old or older. Wrigley turns seven in July.

Wrigley’s getting old. I know it was going to happen, but it still seems like yesterday that I got her. And now we’re buying mature dog food for her? So sad.
