Ok, well things are better now. My server was down to 200MB of free space – so I needed to defrag and compact the Exchange database file to free up space. Yeah, that had me nervous since I’d never done that before. But all’s well thankfully.

As for the other purchase I referenced in my previous entry.. I bought a new car. It’s a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer and I couldn’t be happier. My truck was at the 98,000 mile mark, and we just felt it was time. Pics > link removed

Major Purchases

Yes Ladies & Gentlemen – I enjoy my toys, whether they be cars, computers, playstation, etc. Is that so horrible? No.

Now for the GOOD news..

As you may or may not have noticed, I added a countdown to the right side of the page. It’s true – I’ve FINALLY ordered my PowerBook! Prelim ship date is Wednesday. I’m stoked. Those that know me know that I’ve been waiting almost a year to order this laptop. Take a look > Apple PowerBook

I made another rather large purchase over the weekend, but I think I’m going wait a couple days to post exactly what. Ooh the suspense..

EDIT (4/20/2005) – my PowerBook shipped on Monday! Delivery is Friday! Just in time for the weekend..

EDIT (4/22/2005) – I took down that countdown because somewhere I messed up in the logic. Oh well..it’s being delivered today.

How Ironic..

So there was a folder on my WinXP Pro laptop that I couldn’t delete due to some dumb ass naming scheme used by two of the files inside the folder. That folder has been sitting on my desktop for well over two months.

So today I decide to SMB from my Mac OS X PowerBook and try to delete the folder…done in less than a second. Go figure.

So Close, Yet So Far Away..

I went to CompUSA on Saturday. Wouldn’t you know it – they were running an 18 Months No Interest deal on any laptop over $799. So I immediately go over to the Apple aisle..but damnit no 12″ PowerBooks on display. So I asked the employee if they had any in stock..no, of course not.

I guess that’s a good thing though. I really want to wait until Tiger (OS X 10.4 for the uneducated) is released, which is rumored to be this Friday. I’ll wait until the OS is preinstalled and then I’m going to buy.

Al Gore behind a TV station? According to Yahoo Business news (article), he unveiled the name of his new station: Current.Maybe it’s just the conservative in me speaking, but I think it’s too funny that the man who thinks he single-handedly invented the Internet is delving into the “old” medium of television.Am I the only one who finds this funny?
