The Last Time…

I was reading Mark’s latest blog entry (about the last time he saw OJ) and it got me thinking about the last time I saw him.

It was at Nate, Aaron, and Andy’s old house over on 3rd Street sometime in early December. Nate, Andy, Dale, and I had decided to go to Chili’s for dinner and OJ and Lorenzo stopped by. He was so happy and excited about the upcoming bowl trip. They only stayed a few minutes, and I remember the last words OJ said to me were: “Later Bro – see you in January.”

Wow…little did he know the good Lord had other plans in mind.

OJ had such a great impact on my life even though I only knew him for two years. I remember the first time I talked to him. It was the week between Band Camp and Choir Camp the summer before his freshman year. He was up in Anna’s office and he helped me do some errand that Anna needed. It’s such a tragedy, but his memory and spirit lives on.
